The first line of the Grid Line talks about my childhood friend, a huge cherry tree.
It is an instrumental song that introduces the story of the album.
A short one like the blossom of cherry trees happening in a short time.
And my first memory as a child.
Cherry trees have always been part of my life and
I’m happy that I grew up surrounded by huge trees planted 50 years before by my grandfather.
I spent many times, may days, many springs, summers, winters, autumns with them.
They were my favorite childhood toys.
I can’t remember the times I embraced them with my tiny arms,
hurt them by kicking at their branches, or just stared at them, enjoying the sunny days.
Nothing is meant to live forever and my beloved trees were no exception.
They all fell down over the years. Thunderstorms hitting the country destroyed them one by one.
They fell without recovering.
I like to think that they did not leave the ground and instead they were transported somewhere,
where they can provide other children with their freshness.
The song is about one of them, my favorite one, the one with the sweetest cherries.
There's a video you can see on my channel is my personal tribute to it.
The video of Ciliegio is based on my childhood memories.
Cherry trees are what I consider to be the start of the spring.
I observe them since my childhood and I never got tired of them.
Through this video, I tried to tell their seasonal life, from flowers to fruits.
lyrics
Erano sopra i frutti migliori.
Poi sei caduto.
