Are You Done with Angels? (Unplugged)

"Are you Done with Angels?" came all at once after writing my first novel in Italian "Angeli a Berlino".
The novel was inspired by the song "When Angels Die", written by the great Nikki Sudden.
When I wrote it, I found out that Nikki Sudden lived a lot in Berlin and used to write a lot about angels.
I lived in Berlin too but I have never written about angels.
All I know about them lies in a dream I had when I was a kid, the day after a schoolmate died of Leukemia.
In the dream I had he was an angel going to heaven and I was trying to pull him back to the earth.
I still remember it after all those years and when I started to write a song based on the first novel, everything proved to be in the right place.
The angels, the Berlin and the novel references, Nikki Sudden.

I remember a school mate
At elementary school in Murelle
He used to play with us, kids
Until one day he got sick
He died soon of leukemia
I had a dream about him
He was an angel flying high
Ascending into the sky
I was trying to pull him back
By shaking his leg
He was stronger than me
His wings got rid of me
The next day I told my parents
That he finally reached heaven
I haven't had this kind of dream ever since

Are you done with Angels?

It seems they only shine
In the prime of our lives
How could I simply believe
When they never intervened
But years later in Berlin
Next to where I lived
A sunset light on
Sankt Michael Kirche shone
The Angel on the front façade
Had the brightness of the sun
I was mesmerized by the sight
When a woman began to cry
She was behind me
When I turned around she screamed
Those words to me
